Igor Jakomin is a renowned business strategist and visionary leader with over three decades of experience in logistics, modern technologies, and the public sector. As Country Director for Slovenia and Regional Director for Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina at United Parcel Service (UPS), he drove growth and operational excellence. As CEO of several subsidiaries within the Italian group Samer, he led market expansion, while at the technology company CargoX, as Deputy CEO, he successfully integrated logistics with blockchain technology, transforming the company from a start-up into a mature corporation. Additionally, as a member of the supervisory boards of the Port of Koper and BTC Terminal Sežana, he made significant contributions to strategic decision-making and the long-term sustainability of these organisations.
As State Secretary (Deputy Minister) at the Ministry of Transport, he shaped key transport and logistics policies and contributed to infrastructure development. He currently acts as a change partner to executives and senior leaders in the region, supporting them in navigating demanding challenges in leadership, growth, organisational transformation, and personal decision-making. In addition, he inspires young talent to realise their potential through programmes such as Pegasus Entrepreneurship Centre, Business Class Academy, Tovarna Podjemov, Sežana Incubator, and Labena Ventures.
He also shares his extensive expertise as a lecturer and associate professor at prestigious universities in both his home country and internationally. His PhD in logistics demonstrates his deep professional knowledge, which he uses to influence the development of business, technology, and education at regional and international levels.
