The Logistician of the Year Award, which has been awarded since 2006, honours the most successful Slovenian logistics professional whose knowledge and work in the past period have led to outstanding achievements in the field of logistics.

Logistics operations need competent managers, especially as logistics has the potential to save money. Therefore, a good degree of innovation can yield significant results. There is a growing awareness of the scarcity of “logistics resources”, which makes their optimisation crucial for the competitiveness of companies, organisations and the economy as a whole. Investment in the transport and logistics sector is also increasing, further stimulating the growth of the economy, especially the logistics sector. It is right that the outstanding achievements in the field of logistics in Slovenia should be seen, recognised, rewarded, and presented to the wider public.

That is why every year the Association strives to recognise the most innovative and successful individual or company in the field of logistics in the previous year. We are aware that this award is not only intended to reward the individual and the company, but also to promote logistics and its importance in Slovenia more widely.

As part of the official opening of the 11th International Logistics Congress, an honorary award for Logistician of the year was awarded, an award given by the congress organizer Slovenian Logistics Association for the best, most innovative and breakthrough logistics practices implemented in the past year.

The flattering title went to M.Sc. Meliti Rozman Dacar from the company SŽ – Tovorni promet!

After completing her Master’s degree in Physics, she worked at Fotona d.d. in the field of global marketing of medical lasers and development of their applications, while also completing a Master’s degree in Management and Organisation at the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana. After that, she managed the International Cooperation Department at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, which organised numerous activities and consultancies to support Slovenian companies in reaching new markets. Since 2006, she has been working at RIKO d.o.o., one of the leading Slovenian engineering companies. She manages the Intralogistics Systems Dpartment, which develops and implements specialised solutions in the field of automated warehouses and internal logistics.

Gregor Glušič has been a prominent figure in the logistics industry since 2005, dedicating 16 years to Maersk and serving as the Managing Director of the company in Slovenia from 2015 to 2021. Notably, Enna Logic is a co-investor, partnering with APMT, in the development of a new container terminal in Rijeka, slated to open next year. Melita Rozman Dacar, M.A., is Director of Slovenian Railways – Freight Transport with 30 years of experience in rail logistics. Since 2013, she has successfully managed Slovenian Railways – Tovorni promet, one of the leading regional railway operators. She also serves as Chair of the Transport Management Committee of the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and as a member of the Management Committee of the Managers’ Section of the Managers’ Association. She regularly participates in various high-level business events in the region. She enjoys passing on her knowledge of all aspects of logistics, especially to promising young people. She is particularly focused on mentoring young female managers, especially in the field of logistics. In 2014, the Managers’ Association awarded her the Artemida Prize, which recognises leading female managers and honours their role in creating added value in the company they manage.

Dr. Luka Bradeško is the CEO and the founder of Solvesall d.o.o., and a researcher at Institute »Jožef Stefan«, Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, managing projects on mobility and logistics.He obtained his PhD at Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School, Ljubljana Slovenia with the topic of Knowledge Acquisition through Natural Language Conversation and Crowdsourcing. From 2008 to 2013 he worked as a principal software engineer for Cycorp Europe, which was at the time an EU branch of the American AI company Cyc Inc. From 2017 to 2019 he worked as a senior research engineer at Bloomberg L.P. in New York. In 2019 he returned to Slovenia, to lead the company Solvesall, which is building products and helping other companies apply AI to the fields of mobility, logistics, and leisure (caravanning).

Cristina Martín Lorenzo, CEO and Co-founder of Usyncro, a SaaS solution that synchronizes all the actors involved in a national or international shipment in a simple and transparent way using blockchain and artificial intelligence. In 2023, Usyncro received the internationally prestigious recognition for the best “Tradetech Platform” awarded by TFG (Trade Finance Global) and BAFT (Bankers Association for Finance and Trade); also, she was highlighted by the Community of Madrid for her international contribution of the region overseas and finalist for the European Logistics Associations Awards.

She is also CEO of ATML, an organization of agents and freight forwarders in Madrid that she founded 18 years ago. Cristina Martín is a Chemical Engineer by training, MBA Executive and is certified as an Air Freight and Transport Operator.

She is co-leader of the Industry and Logistics Forum of the Spanish Association of Executives and Board Members EJE&CON and coordinator of the Digitalization and New Technologies group of FETEIA, the Spanish Federation of Freight Forwarders; as well as coordinator of MadcargoLab, an initiative of the Association of Air Cargo professionals. Member of the board of Alastria, a consortium formed by more than 70 companies to develop the Blockchain Ecosystem in Spain and she is also the coordinator of the Logistics and Transportation working group of Blockchain Cluster of the Comunidad de Madrid.
