Z več kot 15-letnimi izkušnjami je prof. dr. Od leta 2007 je zaposlen kot na najbolj dislocirani fakulteti Univerze v Ljubljani, na Fakulteti za pomorstvo in promet, kjer je leta 2012 zagovarjal doktorsko delo z naslovom Optimizacija postopkov upravljanja cestnih predorov. V sklopu izdelave doktorske naloge in projekta, ki sta ga financirala ARRS in DARS je izdelal jedro simulatorja predora Šentvid, ki je namenjen usposabljanju operaterjev predora. Trenutno je docent na UL FPP. Pri svojem raziskovalnem delu se ukvarja z analizami tveganja, simulacijami prometa, porabe energije v prometu, prezračevanja in požarov v cestnih predorih itd … Sodeloval je pri izdelavi številnih študij in recenzijah analiz tveganja.
