Matjaž Marovt holds a university degree in electrical engineering from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana. He completed his postgraduate master’s studies (MSc) in quality management at Sheffield Business School, part of Sheffield Hallam University, and his master’s thesis was nominated for the European EFQM Master Thesis Award. He is Executive Director for the Industrial Division at Adria Mobil d.o.o. Previously, he served as CEO of HSE, was a Management Board Member at Prevent Global d.d., and earlier held several leadership positions at Gorenje, including Director of Quality, Programme Director, and Executive Director for Procurement and Logistics. He has also worked as a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Logistics, University of Maribor.

Od leta 2007 je zaposlen kot na najbolj dislocirani fakulteti Univerze v Ljubljani, na Fakulteti za pomorstvo in promet, kjer je leta 2012 zagovarjal doktorsko delo z naslovom Optimizacija postopkov upravljanja cestnih predorov. Trenutno je docent na UL FPP.
